“On February 15th of this year I was hospitalized with Bacterial Pneumonia and was placed into an Induced Coma for 8 days. I was in the hospital for a total of 12 days and lost 32 pounds. When I got out of the hospital I was really insecure about how I looked and knew it would take a long time to get back to where I was. I was extremely weak, I could barely walk let alone exercise. I told myself when I was in the hospital that I would come back bigger and better than ever, not just in the gym but in life. I have done photo shoots, competed at a national-level bodybuilding competition, and started I-B FIT with my amazing girlfriend Inde Whitehurst. Going through this experience helped me to appreciate life more than ever before and I became closer to God. There were times that I thought to myself about quitting and taking the easy way out. I was extremely stressed and upset, but I prayed for strength to keep pushing and did the best I could each day. I saw the light at the end of the tunnel, I pictured where I wanted to be and went for it. I never lost sight of where I wanted to be. I told myself “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” It felt like when God brought me out of that hospital I could accomplish anything. God saved me because I have a purpose, and we all have a purpose.”
If you are one of those people who feel like giving up and think there is no hope, I urge you to keep trying!
